Eye2Eye Film Festival 2022 - What Unites Us
Message from Ross Pigeau, FAN Chair
A Welcome from FAN.
This is a special year for Film Access Northumberland: it is the first full weekend for our Eye2Eye international film festival, a festival where FAN’s mission and vision are perfectly encapsulated.
Our mission: to support new filmmakers, to expose Northumberland to film arts everywhere and to link the broader film industry to art organizations in our area. Our vision: Connect, Include, Expand.
Unlike last year when the pandemic limited Eye2Eye to a single open air event in beautiful Victoria Park, 2022, will see a weekend extravaganza of galas, great films, a master class, special guests and an emerging filmmaker showcase - all in spectacular Victoria Hall. There can be no better way to celebrate Spring than by watching films that explore this year’s festival theme: What Unites Us. I hope you enjoy the weekend as much as we enjoy offering it to you.
I would like to thank Elexicon Energy, Rotary Club of Cobourg, Lynn Hardy, the Town of Cobourg, CAMECO, Lakehurst Estates, the Art Gallery of Northumberland, Watershed magazine, our many donors, committee members and volunteers. Most of all, thank you, our supporters.
Message from Mark Johnston, Festival Director
An open hearted WELCOME to the second annual and first fulsome three day EYE2EYE International Film Festival here in Northumberland County. In 2022, as we reorient as a society to gathering again, it is the greatest pleasure as Festival Director to lead a team of remarkable FAN Board and Film Festival committee members and volunteers who have worked tirelessly to bring you a well rounded and inspired offering of feature films, shorts and documentaries here at the beautiful Concert Hall.
Our theme this year is “What Unites Us”. At such a time as this on our planet, this energy is crucially important. Our role as cultivators and shapers of an International Film Festival is to do our absolute best to offer thought provoking content, moments of joy and excitement and an invitation to reflect on what’s important and cherished in the world. We hope you enjoy every moment, film and opportunity to connect as an audience and community.
A personal thank you to my close colleague Micol Marotti, last year’s Director, Sister and guide over this past year, Casting Director Ron Leach who offers this year’s Masterclass, Teri Hart who returns as our illustrious host and moderator, You Are Here Executive Producer Bill House, Director and Writer Moze Mossanen and our wonderful friends from Newfoundland and America who join us to share their authentic journey from the 9/11 experience in Gander as we showcase the documentary. Our thanks as well to Shannon Linton, Jessica Outram, Wally Keeler, Ted Amsden and Katie Hoogendam who each bring their shining, energy and creative to our program this year !
Enjoy !
